Feeling Sneaky...

I'm actually typing this with all of my family around, which is really quite sneaky seeing that no one in my family knows I have this blog, this little hortus conclusus here in the world wide web...
I wanted to wish you all the very best in the New Year. I was going to spend a quiet evening home with the parents and decided last minute to make a trip to see a friend and to rock the neighborhood with a little house party... hee hee. I'm looking forward to it :)
I look forward to getting home and checkin out all of your sites. Any new years' resolutions?
Hope all is well!

Hello!

What has happened to me? I have neglected my little spot here in the land of blog. Only a couple more days and then I have some serious time off. I am SO tired. And I mean tired tired. I have to consciously hold up my head kind of tired or my chin hits my chest...

What to do?

Ah... I just twisted off the cap of a cold one, pizza for supper... and now what? I finished my last project of the year. I walked around work in a daze. I didn't have to rush home and get right to work. I had about 10 hours of sleep from Sunday - yesterday, and a whole 6 hours last night. I have dishes and laundry everywhere, but no inclination to do them at this moment... I can't remember the last time I didn't have something on the go. I feel lost and a little dazed. I hope to replace that daze with a nice low-key buzz by 10pm and then a hot bath, and at least 8 hours of sleep. Oh, there I go, creating a project and a deadline. Is there a "program" for people like me, a support group?
Hope all y'all are doing well and getting as excited about the holidays as I am. I'm looking forward to checking out your sites...

I finally finished a project I have been putting off for days now. Man that feels great! There's another big project I have due on the 15th, that will be my next focus. Sheesh, time is going fast...

I haven't even started getting ready for Christmas. I am so excited my grandmother is going to be making the trip to spend the holidays with my family. This will be the first Christmas without my grandfather and I am glad that she will be there. I decided I'll do all my shopping on the weekend of the 17th and 18th. Crazy, I know. I just like to live life on the edge.

Big meeting going on tomorrow morning. I've gots to sound smart-like. Oh boy. I wish I had another evening to prepare and read up on things I should already know, but what's a girl to do? Wing it.

OK, here I go, off to bed... it's so cold here. I wish I had a man-servant to warm up the bed for me. I guess another night of just my flannel sheets will have to do.

I am officially one year older today. I have earned every one of my 34 years. I often feel like I'm 34 going on 54 and still feel like I'm 24. My birthday has always been a time for setting goals. Like I've said before, this year is about health and wellness. I stepped on the scale first thing this morning, I looked in my cupboards, I took a good look at me in the mirror, and I took some time to really think about what I want to see vs. what I was looking at. I can see some definite areas I want to work on. Just like I found turning 29 way more stressful than 30, I feel the pressure is on more for turning 34 than 35. It's a preparation year so that when I turn 35, I'm where I want to be. I can remember turning 30 and just feeling so excited that everything I had set out to do, I had accomplished. I want to feel that same way 365 days from now.

I think this is the first year I don't go out for my birthday. It's a quiet weekend at home and I'm OK with that. It was great to wake up this morning and not be hung over. There will be time to celebrate over the holidays, maybe. I'm returning the sexy sheer black top I bought to go out with and I'm going to get something more practical for work. Sheesh, I am getting older...

I'm going out for breakfast this morning with three of my closest "girls". I'm going to order my all time favorite: eggs benedict. Then, believe it or not, I have work-work to do. When all is said and done for this day, I'm going to pour myself a glass of the fine wine I bought myself for this day and I'm going toast my first day of being 34 and you my friends.

Cheers!
